;Beyond;video;; Why was the band named “Beyond”? Beyond , a rock band from Hong Kong, was founded in 1983.In 1980s there were a lot of bands in Hong Kong,but only a few of them wrote their own songs. Most of the songs in Hong Kong were adapted songs（改编歌曲）.Huang Jiaju thought that Hong Kong people should have their own music .So, they named their band “Beyond” which means “超越” in Chinese in order to show their pursuit of original music(原创音乐). And this is why it finally becomes the most famous band in Hong Kong.;;;;His attractive, special and unique voice is the sign of the band;Bassist (贝斯手)SingerJiaju’s brother;Guitarist and singerSkillfulFull of passion;Drumerthe king of drum in Aisa（亚洲鼓王）;;This is one of Beyond’s most representative songs.When you hear the name you may think it is for lovers ,but in fact it is written for mothers.It praises the great motherly love ;A song Jiaju had written for Civil Rights Activist Nelson Mandela(??尔逊·曼德拉), the current South African President, who was still in jail at that time. This song deals with apartheid(种族隔离) and racism, and how its hurting the world and the people that are caught in it.;This is one of the songs in Jiaju’s final album “Rock N Roll”, and it stands out most in all of his works.To put it another way ,it is the masterpiece(绝唱) of Huang Jiaju ;In 1993,the lead singer of Beyond ,Huang Jiaju, felled off the stage when he was participating in a Japanese game show . After 7 days of being unconscious, he left us forever. He was only 31 years old then.;;As we can see in the pictures above, most of the songs were written by Jiaju. He was the main songwriter of the band, and in turn was the heart, soul, and voice of the band.
