Where: Italy Who: Guido who is an ebullient(热情洋溢),playful man comes to town and his wife Dora and son Giosué 4 What happened: The family suffered a lot in WarⅡ and the chief actor made his son to believe all the nightmare was just a game and the winner would get a tank. In 1939, a Jewish-Italian poet , Guido came into a small town to open a book store for a live. In the town , he meets a school teacher named Dora who he calls Princess. In the town , he met a school teacher named Dora whom he called Princess. He fell in love with her at first sight. But she had been engaged to an official. With a brilliant mixture of comedy and romance，he won the love of Dora and whisked her away in her wedding party. They got married and had a son . The family lived a happy life with love and laugh. Until one fateful day , the Germans broke in , and arrested Guido and his son because they are Jewish. With the hope of being with her family , Non-Jewish Dora insisted to be taken too . However they were separated in men’s and womens side of the camp. To protect the son from the horror of what is happening to them , Guido told him that they were playing a game and the winner would get a real tank. Even though he was weak and tired, he kept a cheery face everyday for his son to show that he would never give up in this game They tried to escape. Hiding the son in a box of roadside, he went to rescue his wife. Soon , he was discovered , but he still walked happily to show that the game was going on. He was killed in a corner ,which the son can’t see. The America army broke into the town the following morning. The mother and the son were rescued. The movie ends. 《life
