Abstract: T e design and calculation on w ork clearance and relative interference amount w ere studied in order to make non-
backpressure piston rings w ork normally and to raise its life. T e formula of t ermal expansion work clearance w as derived by
t ermal deformation analysis. Radial amount of relative interference w as designed by mec anics analysis,w ic can ensure t at
piston ring as not backpressure. T e formulas in t e paper can elp design, processing and assembling for non-backpressure
piston rings.
