表 7 : 香港中學會考歷年報考情況及成績統計 Table 7 : HKCEE Statistics of entries and results over the years 香港考評局於一九七八年開始舉辦香港中學會考(會考) 。早年的統計一般以學校考生及全體考生(包括學校考 生及自修生) 列出。由一九九六年開始，所有學校考生成績的統計只包括提供正規中學會考課程的日校，並同 時提供首次報考日校考生的分析。 The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority started to conduct the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) in 1978. In the earlier years, the examination statistics were generally published in terms of school candidates and all candidates (including both school and private candidates). With effect from 1996, all analyses of results of school candidates include only candidates from day schools offerring a normal HKCEE curriculum (day school candidates).
