that做关系代词用法（That makes use of relative pronouns） That is often used as a relative pronoun. It can refer to someone or something. When you refer to something, you can use which instead of that. When you refer to someone, you can use who instead. But in the following cases, that is generally used. A, that refers to a thing when The 1. leading words are all, few, little, much, the, one, something, anything, everything, nothing and so on. Such as: (1) Well, do, all, that, we, can, to, protect, the, endangered, plants, and, animals., we will do our utmost to protect those endangered animals and plants. (2) There, is, much, that, I, Wan, to, tell, you., I have a lot to tell you. (3) Is, there, anything, that, I, can, do, for, you? What can I do for you? The 2. antecedent is modified by qualifiers such as all, every, no, some, any, much (a), few, (a), little, and so on. Such as: (4) You, can, borrow, any, book, that, you, want, to, read, in, our, school, library., in our library, you can borrow any book you want to read. 3. the antecedent is the superlative modification of an ordinal or an adjective. Such as: (5) This, is, the, most, beautiful, city, that, Ive, ever, seen., this is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. 4. antecedent words are modified by the, only, the, very, the, right, the, last, etc.. Such as: (6) This, is, the, very, factory, that, they, visited, last, summer, holiday., this is exactly the factory where they visited last year. (7) This, is, the, only, painting, in, this, style, that, we, have., this style of painting, we only have one. The 5. antecedent is the coordinate structure, when there are people and things. Such as: (8) He, talked, happily, of, the, writer, and, his,, books, that, interested, him. The 6. antecedent has the the same modifier to indicate that the antecedent is the same thing.
