Strength analysis of integrated multi-link rear suspension system

Abstract :Finiteelement methodiswidely usedinthestructuralanalysisof vehiclesuspension,but thevast
majority of applications are limited to individual parts analysis. Boundary conditions and loading are
difficult to define because of mutual movement between each component, affecting the accuracy of the
calculation results.Thepaper,taking an automobile multi-link rear suspension as an example, resents ap
strength analysis method of integrated suspension system.Compared with the result of rear axle welding
assembleinthesuspensionsystem,it analyzesthesingleunit andstudiesthedifferences.Theresultsshow
that thestresslevelof asinglepieceistoo high becauseof connectionpositionwithfixedconstrainsandby
mostly concentratedload.Theoverallanalysissystemcanfully consider themovementof eachcomponent,
so theaccuracy of the resultsis relatively high.This methodisimportant for the design and development
of suspension system.
