Abstract Optmi izationmethod was used in the design of the spiral bevel gear of the main reducer. W ith the m ini
m ized volume of the main reducer as objective function, a mathematicmodel for the optmi ized design of basic parameters
was set up in accordancewith the nonlinear optmi ization with constraints and the analysis and calculation for optmi ization
weremade usingMATLAB. The results show that the optmi ization is feasible.
