Chapter Ten Shipment 10.1 Introduction 10.2 Writing guide 10.3 Letters for example 10.1 Introduction Shipment operation includes the following procedures: customs declaration, book shipping space or charter a ship, make shipment policy, send shipping advice and so on. Terms of shipment contains several contents, they are: the time of shipment, the place of the shipment, the place of delivery, the place of destination, shipping documents, partial shipment or transshipment. Before shipment, the importer shall send the exporter a shipping instruction to specify the shipping mark, packing, mode of transportation, etc. After the goods are loaded on board, the exporter should perform its obligation i.e. sending the shipping advice to importer. Shipping advice includes the contract NO, name of ship, the name of goods, quantity, value and the time of departure, and so forth. 10.2 Writing guide 1. In writing a shipping instruction, there are three procedures. First, Importer should refer to the contract No and the terms of trade. Second, advise some shipping requirements such as the time, document, and so on. Last, show your hope and some shipping suggestions about cooperation. 2. In writing a shipping advice, the seller should give the buyer the following information: 1)Information of the goods.
