T hism ay suggest that the qua lity of sem en has deteriorated partly due to the e ffects o f increasing tox ic factors in the env ironm en t. In fertility rem a ins a m ajor prob- lem in so ciety, and recent da ta show that as many as one in four couples is try ing to so lve the problem. M a le infertility accounts fo r 40% o f infertility cases. M any env ironm enta l agents such as tobacco sm oke and n icotine and gene tic factors have been mi plicated in the poor sperm function and resultant in fertility. T he a rtic le is a rev iew o f the mi pacts of n ico tine on human fertility potentia l. A cco rding to our results, n icotine is proved to be a potent pro-ox idant
