Historical Thinking about the Abolition of the Imperial Examination

Abstract :The abolition of the imperial examination is the historical development and the inevitable result of the conflict between the
eastern and western civilization． It promotes the western education system and modern science and technology to be transported and de-
veloped in our country ，promotes the transformation of our traditional academic ，and forms the new intellectuals． However ，the imperial
examination system played important function in selecting talents ，breaking power monopoly ，promoting social fairness and promoting
the inheritance of Confucianism and so on． Rational summary of the imperial examination system gives us the enlightenment and refer-
ence for todays education development
