Application of Stable Carbon Isotope Analysis in the Research on Global Climate Change

Abstract: uman activities caused a rapid increase in the concentrations of the greenhouse gases
in the past century which led to an increased reflection of radiation, causing higher temperatures
on the earths surface Studying on the terrestrial carbon cycling became the focus of.
environmental and ecological researches with the climate changing. Among the new study
approaches the stable carbon isotope analysis are widely used in studies of the global carbon
cycling.In this paper, the application of stable carbon isotope technique on vegetation dynamics,

water use efficiency of plants, C values in tree-rings as well as carbon allocation and fluxes
were described.
