Unsurprisingly many institutions of learning (high- school and higher learning) are teaching the relevant set of networking technologies. Many are interested in creating new programs and curricula with networking content. The question arises as to how best to teach this material. Michael Dixon, Tanya McGill, and Johann Karlsson point out that many of the relevant concepts are difficult to really grasp in a purely theoretical way. Lectures alone do not accomplish the trick. And practical assignments - labs - must move beyond mere programming assignments.
