Casil Telecommunications Holdings Limited Annual Report 2002 Directors’ Business Revie On behalf of the Board of Directors, the business performance of CASIL Telecommunications Holdings Limited (the “Company”) and its subsidiaries (collectively the “Group”) for the financial year ended 31 December 2002 is summarized in the following paragraphs. RESULTS SUMMARY For the year ended 31 December 2002, the Group’s turnover 21.2% increased by 21.2% to HK$113.5 million. Profit for the year 113,500,000180,000 was HK$180,000 as compared to last year’s loss of 253,679,000 HK$253,679,000. BUSINESS REVIEW AND PROSPECTS 1999 Following the management restructuring at the end of 1999, the Group has firmly carried out business adjustments during the subsequent years. Resources were concentrated on broadband wireless communication technology and its applications. Proactive strategies and business plans were adopted for the purpose of improvement. While tapping new resources and cutting expenses, the Group actively fostered and supported broadband wireless access business, intelligent transportation system business and video conferencing system 2002 business. On the other hand, stringent control was also applied on various costs and administrative expenses.
