《基础英语IV》教学大纲 课程编码：B0105204 适用专业：翻译 课程类别：专业基础课 课程性质：必修 学 分：6 学 时：6 其中：讲课学时：96 实践（验）学时：0 先修课程：基础英语I,基础英语Ⅱ等 一．课程地位与作用 基础英语是翻译专业的必修基础课程。学生通过英语学习和实践活动，逐步掌握英语知识和技能，提高语言实际运用能力，提高个人的综合素质，提升学生的就业竞争力，并为未来的可持续性发展打下必要的基础。本课程主要教学内容包括对语言技能和运用能力的培养，注重素质教育，旨在激发学生的学习英语的兴趣，建立学习信心和学习成就感，使学生在学习过程中发展综合语言运用能力，提高人文素养，增强实践能力，培养创新精神，为学好翻译打下良好的基础。 二．课程教学要求 本课程的教学要求在于通过教与学，让学生掌握基本的听、说、读、写、译等基本的语言技能，要求做到： 1．语音语调正确； 2． 认知词汇达到6000左右,熟练掌握2000左右的重点词汇,能在会话和写作中正确运用； 3．掌握系统的英语语法,并能在综合运用中做到概念清楚,形式正确； 4．阅读中能够掌握文章的主旨, 准确领会作者的写作意图； 5．读懂不同题材的文章，掌握不同体裁文章(记叙文,议论文等)的写作格式,为进入到高年级的学习打下扎实的语言基础。 三．课程教学重点、难点 本学期课文的篇幅较长，没有很多新的语法知识，主要有以下教学重点与难点： 教学重点：理解、掌握课文内容，复习和熟练运用语法知识，学习常用、重要词汇和习惯用语。 教学难点：分析句法和文章结构，理解、诠释重点句/修辞句的深层涵义。 四．课程教学内容 Unit 1 Thinking as a Hobby 1. Teaching Objectives: a. To be able to grasp long sentences from the perspectives of both sentence structure and meaning; b. To learn new words and to grasp common collocations; c. To be able to retell some key paragraphs in English; d. To be able to identify the figures of speech and writing skills of this text; e. To be able to deal with all the after-class exercises independently. 2. Language Focus Difficulties: a. Focal points: i. Vocabulary 1) Words: aspire, bulge, devise, exalt, heady, lest, outnumber, writhe 2) Phrases: to bang the door, to symbolize the nation, to contemplate the statue, to inspire the people b. Grammar: i. Present/past continuous tense with adverbs of frequency ii. The uses of “being” c. Difficulties: to determine the purpose of the writing and the main idea of the text 3. Teaching Contents: a. Theme: The text is about three grades of thinking, and the author tells us to take thinking as a hobby. b. Structure: Part1 (1): There are three kinds of thinking and I myself could not think at all. Part 2 (2-32): The three kinds of thinking.
