What is conveyed in this drawing does mirror a phenomenon worth discussing. The subtle meaning implied seems that the “hot pot”of culture tastes not only delicious, but nutritious. Furthermore, the hot pot is naturally associated with a more open China; the ingredients of various kinds epitomize our national culture and the foreign culture, to be exact, the integration of both. Indeed, as early as 1978, Chinese authorities opened the door to the outside world, which marked the beginning of the reform. During the following three decades, China has made remarkable achievements in every walk of life and boosted its national economy. Meanwhile, great changes have taken place in China’s traditional culture, which is the result of the impact of the international culture and mostly, of the development of China. Today, with the realization of global integration, many people from different countries have accepted ,loved and also been deeply fascinated by the Chinese culture. Chinese people, similarly, are supposed to cherish the chances to meet foreign cultures so as to accumulate experiences on a solid cultural foundation for keeping up with the latest development of the world. The 2010 Shanghai World Expo, for example, will offer an opportunity for people at home and abroad to witness the
