Research Briefs Spring 2006 Stroke survivors benefit from using Thera-Band resistance Researchers at the University of British Columbia in Canada investigated the effect of exercise in stroke survivors. Subjects performed circuit training in groups for 19 weeks, three times a week. The exercise protocol included elastic resistance exercise for the shoulder, upper extremity closed chain weight-bearing exercises with an exercise ball, and hand grip strengthening exercises.
