Thegoalwastoestablish standardsurveysanddatacollection systemstomonitorthedevelopmentof
livingmarineresourcesandtoachievesustainableyields．M onitoringsurveystostudytheenvironmentand
thefisheriesresourcesbytrawlandacousticequipmentwerecarriedoutintheEastChina andYellow Seas．
BeiDou”trawldatafrom 1984—1995wereanalyzedandallhydrographicaldatafrom 1984—1995werestored
inanOceanPcdatabase．
Scientistsfrom YSFRIhavevisitedNorwayorattendde internationalworkshopssupportedbythe Bei
Dou”Project．SevenpersonswenttoNorwayforstudiesattheBergenUniversity．Theyacquirde new
knowledgetoimproveChinesefisheriesresearchandmanagement．
