Aimed at station centralize structure and regional centralized structure, research status for related key techniques is reviewed, including fault identification algorithm, tripping strategy, information redundancy, etc. Afterwards, advantage and disadvantage of two different structures on commu- nication range, communication traffic, algorithm complexity and reliability are analyzed. In the end, needs for coordination development between WARP and Wide-Area System Protection (WASP) are discussed and further research for WARP is prospected.
