Exxcare Hydraulic Fluid Analysis Program ExxonMobil offers a routine in-service fluid analysis program for HyJet customers All end-user customers are eligible Testing frequency is limited to one sample per aircraft hydraulic system per year or per C-check If fluid is replaced by operator due to severe contamination or degradation, retest of system fluid after a few flight cycles is appropriate Purpose of In-service Fluid Analysis Alert the aircraft operator to adverse hydraulic fluid conditions Remind of OEM recommended limits Action decision belongs to operator Provide a way of identifying systemic problems at specific operators or within operator fleets (e.g. by aircraft type) ExxonMobil Testing Program Offer Bottles, bottle labels, and mailing containers provided Test results reviewed by a fluids quality expert Particle count measurement obtained in triplicate Test results above OEM limits repeated prior to reporting Special comments provided when appropriate Reports e-mailed to the customer Customer fleet results compared to worldwide HyJet operators (upon request) Wear proper protective equipment Follow OEM instructions for withdrawal of sample (typically need to operate the hydraulic system prior to and sometimes while sampling) Use a new, clean sample bottle Before drawing any sample, wipe the sampling valve clean with a lint free cloth Flush the valve and sample tubing by drawing at least 200 ml of fluid before starting to collect the test sample Dispose waste fluid in accordance with regulations Sampling Procedure Recommendations Sampling Procedure Recommendations(Continued) Fill bottle supplied to about 80% Immediately close and tighten the cap to avoid absorbing dirt or moisture Keep bottle tilted for a couple of minutes to confirm absence of fluid leak Wipe off surface of bottle Fill-in label with ball-point pen and press hard Affix label on the bottle Place bottle in mailing tube Ship by qualified carrier.
