Advance in Aftertreatment Technology for Diesel Vehicle s Exhaust Gas

Abstract: The roduction of vehicles with low ollution has been a fundamental olicy of government
and automotive, oil, and catalyst industries together. Lean- burn diesel engines continuously worked
in oxygen- rich condition require to use s ecial exhaust gas aftertretment systems ( EGAS) . The lat
inum- based catalysts can reduce NOx at a low tem erature and in a lean- burn condition, but the
amount of N O formed need to be decreased yet; co er - based zeolites catalysts have higher re

ductibilities and selectivities of 100% N , but oor durabilities. A EGAS, that consists of latinum

- based catalysts, which can oxidize NO in exhaust gas to NO , and vanadium, molybdenum-

based catalysts, which catalytically oxidize articulate matter by NO2 regenerationg tra er continuous
ly, have already be commercialized. To develo a catalyst which can burn out soot at a low tem era
ture without NO will be a main challenge further to aftertreatment technology for diesel vehicle s ex

haust gas.
