How to manage all the appliance has become a very important question. In order to solve the question, this paper introduces the design of intelligent home gateway based on GSM short message. In order to ensure the stability of the system, the MSP430F149MCU has been used in this home gateway. The GSM Network has so many advantages, for example, broad network coverage, simple principle, excellent confidentiality and so on. The research of this paper is mainly about the design and implement of the intelligent home gateway based on GSM short message. In this paper, first, I introduce the GSM communication system and the short message service, investigate the development and application of the home gateway, analyze the significance about the research on intelligent home gateway. Then, in this paper, I will introduce the overall structure and the principle of the intelligent home gateway. The function of each module and the design of the hardware circuit and software in the system whose core is the MSP430F149 MCU will be introduced in detail. And introduce the debugging process of the hardware circuit and software ; analyze the real data. Finally there is a simple summary about this design and some ideal about the systems improvement. From the debugging result of the circuit, the system is stable and reliable and achieves the desired effect. This system is general and has
