After the survey of Chinas aging social data, it is found that the elderly group is a relatively independent reading group. At present, the traditional culture in some traditional magazines and newspapers has taken note of the problems of the old peoples reading, and then introduced the old version for the elderly to read. But in general, the traditional book design that accords with the char- acteristics and needs of the elderly is still very few, so the innovation experience of reading in the elderly is the basis of research. Through analyzing the reading characteristics and obstacles of the elderly today ，based on the cultural innova- tion of the old people reading ，it studies the readability, aesthetic and intelligence of books, and puts forward solutions.
