They are expected to have a wholesome personality, a value for humanistic pursuits, and a sense of social responsibility, as well as the ability to think critically and innovatively, good writing and communication skills, an orientation towards life-long learning, and a proficiency in organization and management. Moreover, they should have an international mindset and be able to work well in a team context. （2）专业培养目标 Major-specific Objectives 本专业培养掌握地理学、地理信息科学的基础理论与专业知识，具有较强的专业综合实践能力、地理信息系统设计与应用能力，能在地理信息科学相关领域从事地理数据采编、系统开发、生产管理及科学研究等工作的复合型专业人才。 This specialty aims to cultivate compound professionals who can master the basic theories and specialized acknowledge of geography and geographic information science. The graduates have strong professional comprehensive practice ability, GIS design and application ability.
