Accelerating the development of agricultural mechanization is beneficial, but the phenomenon of soil compaction by farm machinery should be attention. The sugarcane mechanization in Zhanjiang State Farms is above of normal level, a modern agricultural demonstration zone of sugarcane is established, preliminary results in mechanization were made. It is helpful to execute the research of soil compaction in the tillage-layer. This paper lauched a investigation into the informations of agricultural machineries during the process of sugarcane mechanization in Zhanjiang. Acquired reference values of the whole field compacted.The test zone is The sugarcane high-production demonstration of Ministry of Agriculture in Qianjin Farm. Recorded the trace of rotary operating and harvesting in the field. Measured the bulk density and compactness in different depth of the tillage-layer after the subsoiling, rotary operating and during CASE4000 harvesting. Compared to the status of manual harvesting filed in Lingdong team and of CASE8000 harvesting in Yuzhong team of Nanhua Farm. Then drew the following conclusions: 1）Harvesting machineries are the heaviest and form the maximum compacting reference value in the whole process of sugarcane mechanization. According be estimated, after CASE8000 combinations harvested, over 83% of the sugarcane field is rolled, and after CASE4000 combinations harvested, over 95% of the sugarcane field is rolled. 2）In the test-plots of Qianjin Farm,the minimum soil bulk density was 0.919g/cm3 appeared after rotary operating,that is regarded as a standard to compare: pre-harvest without any machinery enter the field, bulk density increased by 1.6%; manual post-harvest,
