Infrastructure wireless networks: cellular networks, wireless LANs (WLANs), and WiMAX networks. We consider a new kind of wireless networks - Hybrid Wireless Networks (HWNs). An HWN consists of an infrastructure network and a number of ad hoc components. A cellular network + MANETs HWNs can achieve the advantages of both infrastructure networks and ad hoc networks and hence better performance.
