The Kenna Perfect System is divided up into six work piece material groups, and it is intended to provide the highest performance machining solution based on a work piece material. The six material groups are: steel, stainless, cast, non ferrous, high temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The Kenna Perfect geometry and grade selection system provides smart naming systems, designed for the selected work piece material groups. Application Icons are embedded into the surface of the insert to indicate the intended application of the chip groove. One triangle indicates a the chip groove is designed for rough cut, two triangles indicate that the chip groove is designed for medium machining, three triangles indicate that the chip groove is designed are finishing and four triangles indicate that the chip groove is designed for fine finishing. The symbols used correspond to the symbols used on engineering drawings to indicate the desired surface finish. Additional information is also embedded into the face of the insert. Chip Groove designator - the insert with an MP geometry, it’s medium, positive. Application Range - It’s a relatively stable edge, with two triangles, indicating that it’s a medium application insert. Nose Radius - the nose radius size of the insert is molded right into the body of the insert. A “2” indicates 2/64” of an inch, the size of the radius on the nose of the insert. The ISO or metric designation “08” indicating .8 millimeters is also included. Kenna Perfect Grade Naming system.
