Teaching Procedures
1.Introduce the different functions of V-ing and V-ed;
2.Teach the functions of V-ing and V-ed through examples and do some exercises to practice
3.Do exercises to go over all the functions.
Teaching materials
Task1 Introduce the different functions of V-ing and V-ed.
V-ing在句中可作主语、宾语、表语、定语、状语和宾语补足语等。用作主语和宾语时,具有名词的属性;用作表语和定语时,具有形容词的属性。当V-ing在句中作表语、定语、状语和宾语补足语时,有时要改为 V-ed.
Task2 analyze the functions of V-ing and V-ed one by one through examples and do some exercises

Examples:
Seeing is believing.
Traveling abroad can be very exciting.
It’s a great fun sailing a boat.(It为形式主语)
Exercise:

2. David was so disappointed about the decision that he ran out of the classroom.( V-ing作表语时,表示心理感受的词指物用V-ing,指人用V-ed.)

定语
V-ing作定语,修饰和限制名词,可置于被修饰的名词之前或之后。V-ing 此时表主动,动作与逻辑主语为被动关系时,V-ing
