ABSTRACTWithsharplyandrapidlydeteriorationtoenviormentalquality,seriousthreattohumanexistenceanddevelopmentimpeltheecologicalconsciousnesstocomeout.Withtheconceptofsustainabledevelopmentintroduced,architectssetouttoinquirehowtosolvetheinfluenceofarchitectureonenvironmentandenergy,explorethedesignformshighlyadeptandcombinedwithnature.Undersuchbackground,thearchitecturalecologicaldesign(eco-design)arisesatthehistoriesmoment.Howevermostoftheeco-designsareutilizedonlyasdesignmeanslackofrationalstudyandholisticconsideration,inducetheneglectofthecloselogicalrelationindesignprocessthatthefinaldesignformandtheecologicalaimisdisjointed.Thethesisregardsarchitecturaleco-designasresearchobject,explorestheformingprocessandmethodsusing.Baseonthedesigntheory、designmethodanddesignprogramofeco-design,combiningwithDesignResearchmethodology,“DesignResearchProcedureonarchitecturaleco-design”isproposedwiththecollaborationofdesignmodeandresearchmode,withthegoalthatachievetheamalgamationbetweendesignandresearch、sensibilityandnous、projectandartduringthedesignprocessandpromotethecorrespondingrelationbetweendesignformandtheecologicalaim.Thepaperconcludesandcardingsthetheoryofeco-designfromthreeaspects:thought、featureandevaluation,thethoughtofeco-designisdividedintofourparts;thepaperanalysisthefeatureofeco-designfromfourdimensions:time、space、behaviorandtechnique;anevaluationcriterionforeco-designisdeducedreferencefortheLEEDevaluationsystemforgreenarchitecture.Baseonthesummaryonthedevelopmentofmoderndesignmethods,fortheexistingeco-designmethods,thepaperpointsoutthesignificanceofresearchineco-designmethods,andthenencouragethecooperationbetweendesignandresearch.Withthestudyonthearchitecturaleco-designprogram,thepaperrevealesthattherecurrentframeworkofeco-designprogramwhichperformasahelicalspacemodewithtransition;withtheemphasisonthefeaturesofeco-design,andtheevolutionanddevelopmentoffouroperationmodes,theoperationmodeofeco-designdevelopsintoeightstepscorrespondtofivedesignstages:theInformationab
