AbstractAccording to the requirements of creating a central city in central China region of Wuhan city and promote development. Shantytown renovation work become the focus of project of Wuhan urban planning and development. However, supply of land, resettlement way, financing, policy is limited. etc.The Wuhan city shanty towns transformation cant advance smoothly. Far from expectations the government and the residents of the shanty towns. Be one important obstacle to Wuhan city transformation. This paper based on the field investigation and informations that is collected in Wuhan City Real Estate Management Bureau. According to the above problem, I study on the delimma and Countermeasure of the shanty towns of Wuhan city .Attempts to deeply delve and explore that promote the path of Wuhan city shanty towns transformation and the countermeasures.At first, this paper combed the related research of the domestic and foreign scholars about the old city renewal and the transformation of squatter settlements. And combined with practice in shantytown renovation in our country, to shantytowns in Wuhan and its concept is defined.
