Weight: 25% of total marks Length: Approx. 2000 words Overview: As the Records Manager for the Water Safety Corporation (WSC), you have put in place a records management framework. You now need to incorporate as part of the records management framework, an archives program for the organisation so that the history and culture of WSC, its functions and its collections are preserved. These will assist researchers in the future to determine the history of published regulations and standards and also provide an overview to the history of pollution and water safety at sea. Aims: To identify the relationships that surround WSC To write an administrative history of WSC with timeline WSC background: WSC is a subsidiary of National Water Safety Corporation (NSWC) (incorporated 1922) Subsidiary ownership is 51%. The remaining shares (49%) are held by Glen Abbott, a high-flying Sydney businessman and former navy captain. Mr Abbott is well-connected socially and has interests in several communities, but he is primarily driven by commercial aims and the maximisation of profit in the private sector. NSWC is a think tank that has a legislated role to advise government on legislation for water safety, pollution, safety standards.
