Indications for the extraction  Teeth with peri-apical infections that can neither be preserved endodontically nor by surgery Teeth damaged by trauma In case of crowding or impeded eruption, milk teeth and permanent teeth should be extracted for orthodontic reasons. During prosthodontic treatment in order to maintain normal occlusion Indications for the extraction  Severe gum disease which may affect the supporting tissues and bone structures of teeth. Insufficient space for wisdom teeth (impacted wisdom teeth) Teeth located within the area of the tumor Receiving radiation to the head and neck may require extraction of teeth in the field of radiation. Impacted teeth (1) Etiology Acute infectious fevers of childhood Inflammation of the peridental membrane Severe traumatism to the jaws Ankylosis of the mandibular joint Early extraction of deciduous teeth (2) Local Effects of Impacted Teeth Decay of Front Tooth Absorption of the root of the front molar Neuralgia Pericoronal infection Submasseteric Space Cellulitis Osteomyelitis Diagnosis of Impacted Teeth  Surgical Removal Procedure IV. Local Contraindication  Acute infection with an uncontrolled cellulitis Acute pericoronitis Acute infectious stomatitis Malignant disease Radio therapy (Osteoradionecrosis) V. Systemic Contraindication Diabetes Cardiac disease Blood dyscrasias Debilitating disease Addison’s or steroid deficiency Fever of unexplained origin Nephritis Pregnancy or menstruation Senility VI.
