Its most distinguished feature is the appearence of a nonlinear and nonlocal collision operator, which is responsible for formidable mathematical difficulties in both qualitative understanding and quantitative approximations. The classical Boltzmann equation for the nonequilibrium rarefied gas has been studied by many authors and many interesting results have been obtained[1, 2, 3]. In contrast, the Boltzmann equation describing elsctron flow in semiconductors has only recently become a subject of research, and it has proved a useful model not only for studying hot electrons or high field effects in semiconductions, but also, furtherly generalized, it has proved a useful model for studying electron transport in solid and plasmas, neutron transport in nuclear reactors, phonon transport in superfluids.This equation has a wide range application in practice. In this paper, firstly we recount properties about the collision operator and list the gained results of the Boltzmann equation in semiconductor.
