There are numerous words expressing various colors or hues in both English and Chinese. While keeping in mind their basic meanings, we should pay much closer attention to their more profound symbolic connotations, which display different characteristics among various native languages. There are differences in the use of colors and color words between Chinese and English cultures. The different cultures bring different attitudes toward the same color because of different language habits, historical backgrounds, trad
