Study Study on Planning and Design of the Specialized Botanical Garden —-Tal【ing the Planning and Design of Plum Garden landscape in Beijing International Business District for example The author：Qian Chen Specialty：．Landscape Architecture Tutor：Jianghai Ji Abstract The concept of the specialized botanical garden appears wi虹l the incensement of the social requirement．Specialized botanical gardens，which have important effect on urban ecological construction，landscape construction and popular science educmion，is usually the core of botanical garden and the basis of plant ornamental characteristics．Compared with the general botanical gardens，the specialized botanical gardens have hiigher appreciation，higher artistic quality,and stronger cultural symbolism．In this thesis，we take the specialized botanical garden as an example，and discuss the theory and practice for the planning and design ofthe botanical gardens thoroughly． The introduction for the specialized botanical gardens in the departed years were always taken as a part of the introduction for the botanical gardens，with the form as“one garden in another one”．Meanwhile，the planning and design for the specialized botanical gardens were also based on the macro planning of the general botanical gardens． Systematic theory planning has not yet been formed for the”independent nature” specialized botanical gardens，and the corresponding operational experience for construction is also lacked．The taste and overall landscape of the gardens are influenced by the planning and design，landscape shape，and the plant selection．In this thesis，we give the concept，principle，and methods for the planning and design for the”independent nature”specialized botanical gardens based on through study,which will give suggestion for the research and construction for future planning and design． We study the planning and design for the specialized botanical gardens by combining theory basement and actual case．We sum up theory through collection
