On the basis of study the zigbee technology in depth, this thesis designed an open and universal remote control and monitor system for the zigbee wireless sensor network, proposed a gateway based on multi-process architecture, the specific research work are as follows: Devising the overall structure and network architecture of the remote monitor and control system, identifying the function and design requirements of every module of this system, determining the hardware selection and software development platform of every module, devising dynamic and expansive up protocol of sensor data and down protocol of user command. Devising and achieving the hardware circuit diagram of sensor nodes and sink node respectively, including sensors, processors, power management, and the external interface circuit. Completing the sensor driver, devising software flowchart and realizing software functions of sensors and sink node under the Z-Stack framework. Building the embedded Linux development environment of gateway, devising multi-process software architecture of gateway, including I-Process (the initial process), E-Process (Ethernet interface processes) and Z-Process (Zigbee interfaces processes). Analyzing and devising interprocess communication mechanisms of FIFO and shared memory, devising software flow chart of each process, completing the function of each process.
