Abstract “well-made play ”is a creation of Western drama types, the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty , have emerged in a number of drama series with a technique similar to the works and therefore this paper will use “well-made play ”, the name, to study these dramatic of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty . The full thesis is divided into five parts: Chapter one is the research of “well-made play ” and the emergence of the “well-made play ”in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. Firstly, the text makes a more explicit explanation to the concept of “well-made play ” as well as its appearance and popularity, and mainly induces its artistic characteristic into four points, namely: the complicated plot, the ingenious structure, the skillful dramatic methods and the wonderful stage effects. We also think that the “Well-made play ” of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty has its own unique historical and cultural background, for example, the mid-late Ming Dynasty witnessed a loosened official culture of ideology, humanity was liberated and personality set free, there was a national fever for drama and men tended to indulge themselves in songs and women. Chapter two is the research of the choice in theme of the “well-made play ”in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty .The representative works on the subject of it in general includes “love stories ”and “stories about partings and reunions ”two types. In its choice of the main themes of the show such a narrow range, mainly to small, custom features for the fun of art.
