Abstract In this paper, we consider the design and analysis of controller for two classes of complex systems. The main contributions include: 1. The first chapter investigates stochastic high-order feedforward nonlinear systems for the first time. By introducing the homogeneous domination approach and solving several troublesome obstacles in the design and analysis procedure, a state feedback controller is constructed to render the closed-loop system globally asymptotically stable in probability. 2. In the second chapter, we study the problem of global stabilization for a general class of high-order and non-smoothly stabilizable nonlinear systems with both lower- and higher- order growth condition. By using adding a power integrator method and presenting a flexible controller design to deal with polynomial growth nonlinearities via domination in design and analysis procedure, a continuous state feedback controller is recursively constructed to render the closed-loop system globally strongly stable.
