In deciding the time for shipment, considerations must be given to the following: a. The supply of the goods. Sufficient time should be given to the production of the goods. b. Transportation. Considerations should be given to the boat/vehicle , the voyage, and the conditions of the port. If the boat is always available and port is in operation all the time, the shipment can be sooner, otherwise longer time should be given for the shipment of the time. c. The market conditions of the goods. Some goods are seasonal, so they require sooner shipment so as to meet the seasonal market demand. Sometimes when the marine transport is not soon enough, air transport can be used. d. The conditions of the goods. Some goods are likely to molder and get damp, such as cigarette leaves, and they should not be shipped in rainy seasons; some goods should not be carried in summer when it is hot, like grease and pitch. Also, in the provision of the time of shipment, considerations should be given to processing, packing, inspection, and other elements. Place of Delivery, Place of Loading, and Place of Destination Under EXW and D Terms, the sales contract does not cover transportation and the delivery spot is where the two parties divide their obligations; under F terms, the contract will involve transportation and though the seller fulfills his delivery when he has placed the goods at the loading port/place, because of some reasons, such as that of business and politics, the parties usually stipulate the port of destination in the contract. While under CIF, CFR, the parties will be required to state their loading port and the port of destination.
