Methods T wo hundred and sixteen-t wo patients were divi ded i nt o three groups : 126 nor mal subj ects as group A , 10 1 patients with va- ri ous pathologic state wit hout space-occupyi ng effect as group B , and 35 patients wit h space-occupyi ng effect as group C . All s ubj ects under went axial FLAI R i magi ng , a mong which 52 subj ects havi ng ad mi nistration of Gd- DT PA . The VCSFA and t hird ventricul ar wi dt h were recorded . Results The rate of VCSFA was 55 .0 % , and t he f ourth ventricl e was the most co m- mon site . Lateral ventric ular VCSFA was most co mmonly adj acent to the f ora men of Monro and was i n elli pse shape , t he t hird ventricul ar VCSFA was i n pl ate shape , t he fourth ventri cul ar VCSFA al most l ocated at its top with round shape , and aqueduct VCSFA was i n its ter mi nati on wit h round shape . The rates of VCSFA were 57 .9 % and 54 .5 % i n group A and B , but t he rate was l ower i n group C ( 45 .7 %) . There was no relati onshi p bet ween thi rd ventricular size and VCSFA .
