* * * 100 % operator dependance * * Your tool operators are no doubt dedicated, reliable people. But they’re only human. Like everyone else, they can make mistakes. Eight hours, 1,000 parts and 4,000 fasteners. It’s easy to miss one, particularly in a repetitive working environment. Combining the RE-Controller with shut-off air tools in your assembly plant is highly cost effective. * * * * * * * * * * * The PF is capable of doing most of the logic without having to add external components. You do not need a PLC to verify that all bolts are in place. If the customer already has decided to use a PLC the Job function will still simplify the work. Let the PLC send ”Job start” and then have the PF send back ”Job OK/NOK”, instead of sending every result back to the PLC. It gives easier programming of the PLC and fewer connections are consumed (unless of course if the communication is over fieldbus). Clicking on the upper picture starts a sequence where the Job function as in PF3000 is visualised. The lower picture demonstrates a Cell job. If the animation files cannot be opened then right click on the animation file (you find it in the same folder as this presentation), choose ”properties” and set the program to use to open this file to ”Internet Explorer”. * This is Error Proofing using a standard PF (Silver or Gold). For documentation purposes a ToolsNet server is used. To set up a solution like this you need a barcode reader (escort memory or RF-tag can replace the barcode reader) and proximity switches or similar on the production line. The barcode reading device is easiest connected directly to the PF using RS232 serial communication and the proximity switches are connected to the PF via discrete cables (hard I/Os). The use of ToolsNet assumes an Ethernet network. The barcode has to contain model specific information, otherwise the PF will not know how to interpret the string of characters.
