Thi nk like This When You Feel Stressed
It ' s a sweet opport uni ty. If you look on pressure as a threat, you are sure to be n egatively impacted by its occurre nee. 1 They look on it as a great cha nee. They will cherish ( 珍
惜) the pressure mome nt and approach it with con fide nee and en thusiasm.
I ' ll get another chanee. Under pressure, we often lose hope. We tend to distort ( 扭曲)
the reality of the situati on. One of the most com mon phrases is “ the cha nee of a lifetime ” ,
in which we tell ourselves, “ I will n ever get an opport unity like this aga in, so I can ' t
miss it. 2 ”
I ' ll do my best. This is what people who do their best under pressure tell themselves
whe n they are going in to a pressure mome nt. 3 Because it preve nts them from wasti ng valuable en ergy worry ing over things they can ' t in flue nee and pr omotes con fide nee at the same time.
Focusing on doing your best keeps you at that moment and guides your behavior toward success.
4 People who perform their best at pressure will reduce the significanee of the upcoming pressure mome nt, so they feel less stressed. Whether it ' s a sales call or an in terview for
their dream jobs, they are like winning athletes, and whe n asked how to han dle the pressure of the big game, they responded, “It ' s just another game. ”
I can con trol how I resp ond. People who do their best at a pressure mome nt focus on what
they can con trol. 5 If you have an upco ming in terview, don ' t worry about the other
applicants. You can ' t control them. Practice how you will handle an unexpected problem.
It ' s no big deal.
It stops you pay ing atte nti on to an xiety.
ln stead, take care of your own bus in ess.
Rememberi ng past success in creases your con fide nee.
ln fact, we have many cha nces to succeed in our lifetime.
But people who do their best i n a pressure mome nt are differe nt.
Focus ing on doing your be
