* Inversion （倒装） 英语的基本语序是“主语 + 谓语”，如果将谓语置于主语之前，这种语序就叫 “倒装”。 一、倒装的类型 1. 全部倒装：将谓语的全部置于主前。 Then came the time to part. Has he a camera? There are many students in the classroom. 2. 部分倒装：只将助动词，情态动词置于主语 之前。如句中无助动词， 情态动词， 则用do 进行倒装。 Have you read this book? Is she driving over there? Can you sing a song in English? 二．倒装的用法： 构成疑问句 B. 强调 除某些疑问句和以引导词there 开 头的固定倒装句外，还有以下一些 情况： 在以 here,there, out, in, up, down, away 等副词开头的句子里，表示强调。 Here is a letter for you. There goes the bell. Here comes the bus. Out rushed the boy. In came an old man. Down fell the boy from the tree. Away went the man. 注：1）上述句型中，不论谓语动词是 be,还是行为动词都直接置于主语 前，进行倒装。 2） 上述句型中的主语如为代词， 则不倒装。 There it is. Here you are. Away he went. Down he fell from the tree. 2.only 位于句首时，其后有被其修饰 的副词，介词短语或状语从句时。 Only then was he able to go on with his work. Only yesterday did I finish the book. Only in this way can you make some progress. Only when they came back did I know what had happened. 3. 否定意义的副词或连词位于句首时。 Never shall we forget the time when you were with us. Not a single word did he read yesterday. Hardly did I believe him. Seldom does he go out on Sundays. By no means will I agree with him. No sooner had the rain stopped than we went out. Little does he know about your work. Not only can he speak English , but also French. 4. 一些表示频率或程度的副词及so位于句首时。 Often have I told them not to go swimming in that lake. Many a time did she come here last week. So frightened were they that they didn’t know what to do. 5 . 副词so位于句首，表示前句中的情 况也适用于另一人或物时。 He is a doctor, so am I. Tom has a new watch, so has Peter.
