Some people think that the development of technology has made our life more complex. This is most obviously true for mid-aged and old people who have poor memories and learning capacities. However, the convenience technology brings is much more than the troubles it generates. Firstly, technology makes it easier for a person to acquire information. People in the past were limited to local newspaper, radio and TV services. Today, technology breaks the space barriers and provides an individual with instant access to anything he wants to know from any field. One particular good example is that an Ielts candidate can find the scoring criteria and preparation tips of the test by typing relevant questions in a search engine. Secondly, technology changes the way people communicate. Before the Internet and telephones came into existence, there were only two modes of communication: face-to-face talking and traditional mail. But things are different now. /this is no longer the case. A man can maintain contact with his family and friends at any time and anywhere with a computer connected to the Internet. Also, smart phones enable him to share ideas with broader audiences through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social networking websites. To sum up, I believe that in spite of the troubles technology has caused, the convenience it has brought is much greater than most realize.
