1st -2nd period: warm ing up and backgro und in formati on, comprehe nsive readi ng of Part A, explain new words, and phrases and expressions. Learn to write a tour itinerary. 3rd -4th period: talk about package tour, understand passage of reading B and the structure of readi ng B, and discussexpla in new words, phrases and expressi ons.

Teachi ng Procedures
Six teach ing periods are n eeded to cover the whole un it, among which stude nts will have a series of read in g, liste ning, speak ing and writi ng activities related to the theme of the un it.
Period One and Period Two:
? Step one: warm ing up. In troduce some places in America.
? Step two: let stude nts do the fast readi ng to find out the route of the tour to America.
? Step three: do the global readi ng and the n an swer the questi ons on Task 1.
? Step four: intensive reading. Explain the important words, phrases, expressi ons and senten ces with some examples.
? Step five: read the sample of an itinerary on page6, learn how to write a tour it in erary.
