Cultural Background—The Chinese Zodiac The Chinese zodiac(中国的十二生肖) follows a twelve year cycle, each of the years being named after an animal. The Chinese believe that people born in a particular year take on the characteristics (特征) of the animal associated(相关联) with that year. Ox Characteristics: Born leaders who will work hard to achieve(实现) their aims. Dependable(可信任的), good organisers(组织者) and not easily influenced(受影响的) by others.
