VACON® 100 AND VACON® 100 ENCLOSED DRIVE OPTE5 INSTALLATION GUIDE When installing the OPTE5 option board, a separate PROFIBUS grounding bracket needs to be installed. For the installation, you need the following parts included in the delivery: • PROFIBUS grounding bracket • Grounding cable 1 Remove the drive main cover. This step only applies if the OPTE5 option was purchased separately. 1. Remove the factory installed grounding bracket. It is mounted with two screws. 2. Install the PROFIBUS grounding bracket. Use the screws you just 2 removed. 1 2 3 Open the control unit cover and install the OPTE5 board to slot D or E. 4 Connect the PROFIBUS cable to the OPTE5 board. 1. Strip the PROFIBUS cables and install the grounding cable connector around the stripped part of the cables. 2 2. Fix the cable shoe at the other end of the grounding cable on the 1 PROFIBUS grounding bracket. 5 6 Close the control unit cover and re-attach the drive main cover. DPD01970B
