Firstly, this paper analyzes the concept, causes and trends of economic globalization, and points out that the development of capitalism is closely related to the promotion of economic globalization. Secondly, the paper discusses the characteristics and causes of urban poverty in China, and analyzes the structural and non-structural factors of urban poverty in China. Then, the paper analyzes the impact of economic globalization on urban poverty in China, pointing out that economic globalization is both the cause of urban poverty and the way to solve it. Finally, the paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions, including strengthening urban planning and land use management, promoting education equity, and building a public health system. This mid-term report of the research on the impact of economic globalization on urban poverty in China provides theoretical basis and policy support for in-depth research in the future.
