jobs.ToshiakiTachibanaki,aneconomistwhohaswrittenoninequalityamongJapanesewomen,

findsthatabout80%offemalecivilservantsreturntotheiroldjobsafterhavingchildrenbecause

theygetreasonablematernitybenefitsandhelpwithchildcare.Butinprivatepaniestheyaretypically

lesswelllookedafter,andonlyaboutathirdgobacktowork.
