Thebi-directionalNetworkAudioInterfaceshallprovide16inputand16outputanaloguechannelswithadditional2inputand2outputdigitalchannelsofconnectivitytotheDantenetwork.Connectivityshallinclude16analogueinputsandoutputsviafour25-wayfemaleDsubconnectorswiredtoAES59standard.Connectivityshallinclude2digitalinputsandoutputsvia2AES/EBUinputsviafemaleXLRconnectorand2AES/EBUoutputsviamaleXLRconnector.TheInterfaceshallbean18channeldeviceintotal,switchingtoa16channeldeviceatsampleratesof176.4kHzandhigher,allowingforAES/EBUinputstoreplaceanaloguechannels15and16whenselected.TheInterfaceshallbecapableofsyncingtointernalwordclock,XLRDARSinput,oranexternalmasterwordclock.ExternalmasterwordclockinandoutshallbeviaBNCconnectors.TheInterfaceshallhaveuser-selectablesampleratesof44.1kHz,48kHz,88.2kHz,96kHz,176.4kHzand192kHz(-4%/-0.1%/+0.1%/+4.167%).Inputs/outputsshallhaveinternal24-bitA/DD/Aconverters.Frequencyresponseshallbe20Hz–20kHz+/-0.1dB.Dynamicrangeshallbe118dB“A”weighted.Internalsignalsshallbefullybalancedthroughout.Inputsandoutputsshallbeprogrammableforeither+18dBuor+24dBusignallevelsrelativetoa0dBFSdigitalreference.

TheNetworkAudioInterfaceshallprovidebothredundantpowerandnetworkconnections,withtheabilitytohaveredundantandswitchednetworkmodestorunaredundantconnectionordaisy-chaindevicestogether.
