Abstract:Construction,mechanical,electrical,andopticalperformance,installationguidelines,ac-ceptancecriteria,testrequirements,environmentalconsiderations,andaccessoriesforanall-dielectric,nonmetallic,self-supportingfiberoptic(ADSS)cablearecoveredinthisstandard.TheADSScableisdesignedtobelocatedprimarilyonoverheadutilityfacilities.Thisstandardprovidesbothconstructionandperformancerequirementsthatensurewithintheguidelinesofthestandardthatthedielectriccapabilitiesofthecablecomponentsandmaintenanceofopticalfiberintegrityandopticaltransmissionsareproper.Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Itdoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyissuesassociatedwithitsuse,anditistheresponsibilityoftheusertoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
